“Mother and Child” is a miniature sculpture of a maple tree and her offspring, in a hand carved maple bonsai dish.

In the mother tree is a mother bird with her baby in a nest. On the ground there is a mother and baby snake and in a hole under the big tree their are two sets of eyes of some unknown critters; must be another mother and child.

This sculpture is in a sealed plexiglas case, 14" x 14" x 16" high. Over 2800 hand made leaves make up the two maple tees and over 500 ivy leaves and a bunch of ferns are scattered over the ground. 1664 hours over a 3 year, 7 month span were needed to complete this sculpture.
